Located in the coastal Normandy region, along the indomitable chalk cliffs, there sits one of the most beautiful villages in all of France, called Veules-les-Roses.  With only 600 inhabitants, this picturesque village is believed to have existed since the 4th century. The main attraction of the village is the River Veules, for it is the shortest river in France. Curiously it rises on the edge of the village, flows through its center, then shortly heads out to the sea.  Salvaging an exquisite lot of French reclaimed terra cotta tile from one of the many no longer used grain mills was our lucky day!  A larger lot, the artisanal quality of this handmade clay tile is glorious.  With precise hexagon formation - one can enjoy the straight but perfectly aged edge details.  The extraordinary color variations - from rose and alabaster to chestnut, olive, gray and clay - make an historical and joyful impression in an interior.  We are showing this lot with our 18th Century French Oak Flooring in color: THE QUEEN'S HAMLET.  It showcases the soft, light oak hues that anchor the terra cotta's colors - unifying the materials into a notable French elegance.
