Hand-painted blue and white ceramic wall tiles inspired by 19th-century French decorative tile from Rouen, the Cuisine de Monet Collection reflects the iconic kitchen installation of Claude Monet in Giverny. Characterized by rhythmic geometric patterns and a luminous glazed surface, these tiles embody the enduring appeal of French provincial design.
Each tile is hand painted by Emmi Micallef, co-founder of Historic Decorative Materials and Pavé Tile Wood & Stone, and kiln-fired at the Pavé facility. A hand-crackled finish is then applied to recreate the soft patina of antique porcelain, introducing subtle variation and depth consistent with historic European craftsmanship.
Designed for kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, and fireplace surrounds, these blue and white geometric tiles are favored by interior designers for French country homes, heritage interiors, and refined luxury spaces. When paired with reclaimed French terra cotta flooring, the collection creates interiors grounded in authenticity, material richness, and timeless continuity.
