Experience Our European Architectural Materials

The most meaningful way to evaluate fine architectural materials is to experience them installed. The depth of color, natural variation, texture, and architectural presence of antiqued French oak flooring, French limestone, Belgian bluestone, reclaimed French terra cotta, checkerboard flooring, and decorative tile simply cannot be appreciated from a small sample alone.

For this reason, we have created a private showroom where homeowners, architects, designers, and builders can experience our collections as they were intended—in thoughtfully designed architectural settings that reveal their true scale, character, and timeless beauty.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Every appointment is a private, personalized design consultation tailored to your project. Whether you visit our showroom or schedule a video appointment, you'll have the opportunity to compare complete installations, explore complementary materials, and receive expert guidance as you refine your design vision.

During your appointment you can:

  • Experience full-scale installations rather than small samples.
  • Compare colors, textures, and finishes in natural light.
  • See how French oak flooring pairs with French limestone, Belgian bluestone, reclaimed terra cotta, decorative tiles, and other architectural materials.
  • Discuss your home's architectural style, adjoining materials, and design goals.
  • Receive personalized recommendations based on decades of experience sourcing historic European materials.

A Showroom Built on Experience

Since 2000, Historic Decorative Materials has cultivated long-standing relationships with Europe's finest sawmills, quarries, reclamation specialists, workshops, and master artisans. We continually expand and refine our showroom so that every collection can be evaluated exactly as we evaluate it ourselves—installed, lived with, and appreciated as part of an architectural environment.

Our collections include antiqued French oak flooring, French limestone flooring, Belgian bluestone, reclaimed French terra cotta, checkerboard flooring, hand-painted Delft tiles, French garden pottery, limestone sinks, and other exceptional architectural materials inspired by Europe's historic homes and gardens.

Designed Around Your Project

Whether you are restoring a historic residence, building a new luxury home, or creating a classically inspired interior, our goal is to help you select materials that work beautifully together. Every consultation is relaxed, informative, and centered on your project, giving you the confidence to make decisions that will be enjoyed for generations.

We look forward to welcoming you to our showroom or meeting with you through a private video appointment.

The most meaningful way to evaluate materials for fine home building projects is to experience them installed. Even the most seasoned architect, interior designer, or builder cannot fully understand the depth of color, variation, and surface character of limestone—or the nuanced tannin interplay created through oxidation in French oak flooring—from a small sample alone. We hold ourselves to the same standard when selecting new materials; we assess every product in installed applications to truly understand its performance, appearance, and character.

This is why we continually build and refine our showroom—not only for our clients, but to ensure that we fully understand the materials we offer. We welcome private and video appointments, and maintain an up-to-date e-commerce website with detailed imagery that accurately represents the beauty, texture, and patina of each collection.
