Historic Decorative Materials, a division of Pavé Tile, Wood & Stone, Inc. is an e-commerce site that supplies reclaimed and aged French and Belgian stone and wood flooring to the fine home building market. After 20 years in business, co-owner François Micallef born and raised in the South of France, holds court with some of the best reclaimed material suppliers in Europe. From French limestone and Belgian Bluestone pavers to French oak wide-plank flooring in solid and engineered planks, as well as reclaimed Belgian bricks and French reclaimed terra cotta tiles - architects and designers choose these formidable surfaces for their exceptional building and renovation projects.
Historic Decorative Materials is also an e-commerce site to design with and purchase Emmi Micallef's original hand painted historic tiles. Drawing inspiration from art & design spanning 14th-19th century France, England, Amsterdam, Italy, Moorish Design and Japan, her tiles are kiln-fired at Pavé in their facility. These historic decorative tiles were created to compliment the carefully curated reclaimed tile, wood and stone surfaces they offer.
Historic Decorative Materials shares a partnership with it's parent company Pavé Tile, Wood & Stone, Inc., in which a by-appointment showroom is available to the trade and homeowners to view and design from Pavé's showroom's extraordinary French, Belgian and Italian stone, wood and terra cotta flooring installations. As an artist and a designer, Emmi offers in-house design appointments where she uses her fine art training, including tonal values, light-dark value scale and the saturation of color scale, to combine these extraordinary historic flooring and wall tiles with a clients cabinets, counter tops, and paint color. Emmi also will help a client choose and guide the client in those materials, if not already determined, to bring forth the most beauty a client could hope for following the wishes and goals of the client.
