The Country House Antiqued French Oak Flooring Collection is an heroic antiqued French oak wood floor - from sizes up to 11" wide to 118" long. The colors are not arrived by stains or oils, but by an oxidation process working within the oak tannin that changes the composition of the wood fibers. This is a 7-10 step process with drying times in between each plank. Working within the tannin of the oak planks, an accelerating aging and coloring process takes place, which achieves the matte patina and translucent colors of an authentic reclaimed French oak floor. They arrive pre-finished for the patina and color are now apart of the surface texture of the wood floor - there are neither stains nor oils floating on its surface. The boards are then individually worked and hand-finished to achieve the authenticity of an 18th century patina. The texture and finish cannot be reproduced on site.
