Vieux St. Tropez - just over 30 minutes west of Nice is located on the magnificent French Riviera. Historically, a fishing village, it became an internationally known seaside resort, where artists and movie stars made this once sleepy town into a sparkly gem along the Gulf of Saint Tropez. A series of pedestrian-only streets, now lined with designer boutiques, sit between the waterfront promenade and the Place des Lices - which is a short walk inland from the turquoise waters. We salvaged this sparkling jewel of reclaimed terra cotta tile hexagons in between St. Tropez and St. Maxime - which lies north of this former, at one time, very quiet fishing village. From a mansion high up on a cliff over looking the Gulf of Saint Tropez - it was a forgotten home that probably sparkled as bright as Saint Tropez herself. The colors of this clay resemble the colors of the Saint Tropez harbor - a pastel mix of rose, plum, caramel, greige, peach and butter - a constant reminder of the shear beauty of this region. The edging is softly aged and it's surface patina is a smooth matte from the centuries of wear. This was a large home - so the lot size is as substantial - 1297 square feet - perfect for a kitchen + dining room or living space that requires historic authenticity and elegance that is Saint Tropez.
