Specs - 18th Century Second Cut, Original Plank. The second cut from a top quality antique 18th French oak plank has the weight of history upon it as well. Due to centuries of wear and age, this second cut exhibits a variation of rich dark oak colors as well as amber and sand colors. The surface texture reveals beautiful French oak grain patterns, as well as nail and worm holes, that is characteristic of antique French oak floors.
Process - Great care is taken to salvage our 18th century French oak floors. The planks are then kiln-dried and de-nailed.
Engineered Specs - The dried and de-nailed antique French oak planks are glued to Birch Marine Plywood. The glue is eco-certified following strict EU guidelines.
Top Layer: 6 mm - total thickness 3/4" - tongue & groove - end matched
Installation - tongue & groove, end matched. No adjustments need to be made during installation such as hand-scraping. Planks are flush after installation, no lippage. Please call for recommended sealing instructions.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina.
