Bormes-les-Mimosas, located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, in southeastern France is an historic village of medieval homes, overgrown with bougainvillea. Blooms and blossoms abound that delight the senses - especially when their counterpoint are antique stone and terra cotta tiles. We were doubly delighted visiting this village, when we secured a lot of antique French terra cotta tiles that seemed as if the flowers created the tiles themselves. Their colors are an absolute mirror of this town - dark and light rose petal pink, butter, clay, peach and acorn. The surface texture is sublime - a soft, matte patina with exquisitely aged edge detail. We paired this floor with a new color way in our French oak flooring series: The Kings of France 18th Century French Oak Floors in Wide Plank Solid or Engineered - The Country House Collection: FALLEN ACORN. It marries beautifully with this antique clay tile, weighting the acorn colors where both floors radiate historic authenticity, joy and elegance.
Recommended Sealer after Installation: Akemi Stone Impregnation for French Reclaimed Terra Cotta Tile Flooring
Cleaning and Maintenance: Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina.
