Marie-Thérèse Charlotte de France was born at Versailles in 1778.  The eldest child of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette, this Daughter of France walked upon marble and parquet floors, donned hand embroidered clothes of lace and pearls and played in her chambers - replete with mirrored walls, adorned in hand-carved gilded moldings.  To be so bold as to name our latest French limestone floor after Madame Royale (her third out of six name variations), we must believe this is a stone floor fitting for le Château de Versailles.  Without question...it is.  This French limestone floor completes a trilogy of our hand-finished, satin patina antiqued limestone floors: Marie-Antoinette, Montclair, and now Marie-Thérèse. The surface texture of all three French limestone floors is comparable to a satin oyster shell.  This is due to hand-finishing, where our experienced French stone masons meticulously tame the limestone's surface into a surface patina that reflects sublimely any light falling upon it.  This trilogy, as well, has an antique edge detail - whispering of well-heeled feet waltzing across the floor.  Their elegant grout line exudes historic provenance.  Finally, there is exquisite Marie-Thérèse. First, she is blessed with limestone patterning that mirrors pleats and folds of satin and silk gowns with intricate hand-sewn lace.  Second and most importantly, Marie-Thérèse Charlotte de France's French limestone's colors are fitting for La Dauphine de France (her forth of six official names): royal cream, pearl and parchment, delicately laced with undertones of the softest gray.  The overall effect is quiet, discrete and incredibly discerning.
