Antique French stone fireplace mantels are elegant works of art that bring a warmth and ambiance to an interior decor. History added to a space with a story behind each mantel - recall the stone mason with years honing his craft, finessing inert blocks of limestone or marble into a beautiful focal point that is all at once functional and authentic.
Reference: Mantel Pavé 109 is an antique marble fireplace from the 19th century. One of the most elegant of marbles originating from Italy - called Portoro, it has gorgeous gold veining running through it. This stunning marble mantel, hand carved in 19th century France, is a handsome piece with simple linear relief moldings that run the top and sides of the mantel's face. Allowing the gold veining to be front and center against the black patina surface, this is a stunning piece where the gold color can be carried as an accent throughout an interior decor. Paired with our Opus Roman French Limestone flooring - the gold colors in this limestone align with the gold veining of the Portoro marble - yet the contrast of an antiqued French limestone floor with the satin patina of the mantel allows two stories to be told - creating a tension of textures.
