A Catalan Farmhouse 1850 - A Small Production Antiqued Cement Tile Collection is a curated collection with four original designs from Spain 1850.  Authentic designs in an earth tone color palette of Stone, Charcoal, Parchment and Authentic Olde White (original Spanish 1850 white), quietly harmonizes with reclaimed materials, yet brings to the forefront contrast - to create beautifully historic interiors.

Provenance: Catalonia, Spain

FOB: West Hatfield, MA

Dimensions: 8" x 8" x 3/4" thick

Color Way: Parchment + Authentic Olde White (original Spanish 1850 white)

Pattern: The Checker - an original pattern from Catalonia, Spain 1850, inspired by the black and white marble checkered floors from the Italian Renaissance, this pattern is ubiquitous throughout history.  From England and France to Belgium and Italy, grand halls and châteaux installed the marble checker pattern for it's bold, masculine presence and the contrast it brings to a space.  As a cement tile, the checker floor becomes less regal, but the pattern holds the eye, allowing more humble country farmhouse interiors to feel it's presence.

Fabrication: Artisanally crafted in Catalonia, Spain using an original Catalonia 1850 design: hand-forged metal grid, layered and hand-pressed colored cement, essential drying time.  Final antiquing by hand at Pavé facility in West Hatfield, Massachusetts to achieve antiqued patina.

Surface Texture: Satin patina with artisanal imperfections.  This is a living material that will continue to age and patina with use and wear.  A quality installation will mean this cement tile will last generations.

Recommended Sealer after Installation:  Akemi Stain Repellent Nano Effect

Cleaning and Maintenance:  Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina
