Hand-painted Delft blue ceramic wall tiles inspired by 17th-century Dutch Delftware, this collection draws directly from historic museum originals and surviving architectural tile. Rooted in the decorative traditions of the Netherlands, each tile reflects authentic Delft motifs—ranging from geometric ornament to narrative scenes of daily life in early modern Amsterdam, when global trade and cultural exchange shaped the visual language of European design.
Each tile is hand painted by Emmi Micallef, co-founder of Historic Decorative Materials and Pavé Tile, Wood & Stone, Inc., and kiln-fired at the Pavé facility to preserve the depth and clarity characteristic of traditional Delft craftsmanship. Subtle variation within the glaze and brushwork ensures that no two tiles are identical, echoing the irregularity and authenticity of historic ceramic surfaces.
Designed for kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, and fireplace surrounds, these Delft blue and white ceramic tiles are selected by interior designers for heritage interiors, Dutch-inspired kitchens, and refined European spaces.
