Vieux Lyon, one of Europe's most extensive Renaissance neighborhoods, is located in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon, France, on the banks of the Saône River.  In 1964, it became the first site in France to be protected under the Malraux law to protect France's cultural sites. Not only is Vieux Lyon a cultural landmark for France and all of Europe, it is the town where we salvaged a spectacular lot of French reclaimed terra cotta tiles.  A lovely square tile, exceptionally hand made - the artisanal quality is only surpassed by it's magnificent color. A rare jewel - the colors of golden wheat fields fill the eye.  What is wonderful about working with this saturated color range - is to bring subdued grays next to it.  The contrast of muted grays with golden wheat elevate an interior to an historic and sophisticated space.  We love our Kings of France 18th Century French Oak Flooring in: WEATHERED GREY with this golden wheat terra cotta tile floors.
