Apt is a village located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and it is built in between the Luberon Massif and the Vaucluse mountains.  The city is located on the ancient Via Domitia - which is a Roman road built from 118 BC to connect Italy to the Iberian Peninsula.  The cobblestone streets in the center of Apt has a patina that is nearly reflective.  Salvaging this classic Provençal red terra cotta tile hexagon in Apt was rewarding - a piece of history from this historic, lovely town.  This is a more uniform color palette - of Provençal terra cotta reds and with a soft, matte patina.  The quality of this hand made terra cotta tile over a century ago is seen by it's perfect hexagon shape and exacting edges.  We paired this with our 18th Century French Oak Flooring in a new color way called THE QUEEN'S HAMLET - a softened, white warm oak that marries beautifully with clay reds.
