We cannot say this is an antique French limestone floor reaching back to the Roman times -but your perceptions may differ.  Intellectually this is a 17th century French limestone floor - one of the most coveted of all - the antique French Blonde Barr. Not saying 17th century is nothing to laugh at - that alone is spectacular - but one's eye may tell the mind - this appears to be as old as Rome.  Why is the antique Blonde Barr so coveted?  Is it the stone colors of wheat when the sun shines soft and golden in the late afternoon, perhaps?  Or maybe it's the texture - a smooth, matte patina where only time and weather and footprints could make such marks?  Surely it must be it's provenance - from Provence, France where one is forever adrift breathing in perfumed air of lavender and thyme. A floor of this stature takes one's breathe away.  We daydream of life lived in Provence - where the floor is simply a magic carpet ride.

Cleaning and Maintenance:  Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina
