The Olde Oak Antiqued French Oak Flooring Collection is neither newly manufactured wood made to imitate aged floors nor reclaimed planks salvaged from historic buildings. Instead, it is crafted from 150–200-year-old naturally fallen French oak, combined with advanced oxidation techniques and expert hand craftsmanship. Over centuries, these oak planks rest on the forest floor, developing natural character, knots, and grain that form the foundation of each board.
Using a meticulous 7–10 step oxidation process, artisans work within the natural tannins of the oak to accelerate aging and develop rich, matte patina and layered, translucent color. This technique creates the look and depth of authentic reclaimed French oak flooring, without surface stains or oils—resulting in a finish that is fully integrated into the wood itself.
These antiqued French oak floors offer exceptional versatility across a range of interior styles, from historic farmhouses, country estates, and English manors to carriage houses, brownstones, and contemporary spaces including industrial, mid-century modern, post-and-beam, and Shaker interiors. Sourced from sustainably managed European forests, all solid and engineered planks are PEFC certified, while panels and patterns are FSC certified, ensuring both authenticity and environmental responsibility.
