14th-Century English Heraldic Coat of Arms Tile – Hand-Painted Gothic Decorative Ceramic Wall Tile

Inspired by 14th-century English encaustic tile traditions, the Coat of Arms decorative ceramic wall tile is one of the original heraldic designs within the Carriage House Collection by Historic Decorative Materials. Drawing upon the symbolism and geometric ornament of medieval England, this hand-painted motif reflects the decorative heritage of Gothic castles, manor houses, and ecclesiastical interiors.

Originally interpreted and painted by Emmi Micallef, co-founder of Historic Decorative Materials, each ceramic tile features a heraldic Coat of Arms in Medieval Grey, a muted warm grey, against a Vintage Warm White field. Individually hand-painted and kiln-fired, the delicately crackled glaze evokes the aged character of historic English decorative ceramics.

Designed as part of a coordinated collection of English Gothic ceramic wall tiles, the Coat of Arms motif can be combined with complementary Carriage House designs, borders, field tiles, and moldings to create fireplace surrounds, kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, and decorative architectural panels. Its understated palette complements reclaimed French oak, antiqued limestone, and Belgian bluestone, uniting medieval ornament with both historic and contemporary interiors.

Recommended Sealer: Apply Akemi Stone Impregnation sealer following manufacturer's instructions after installation and grouting of tile.
