Ceramic pencil edge molding from the Carriage House Collection by Historic Decorative Materials offers a refined architectural finishing detail for decorative wall tile installations. Inspired by traditional English ceramic moldings, this slender decorative trim introduces a clean, defined edge to tiled walls, framed panels, and wainscoting while preserving the understated elegance of historic European interiors.
Finished in Historic Decorative Materials' proprietary Vintage Warm White glaze, the pencil edge molding features a softly reflective surface with delicate crazing reminiscent of aged European ceramics. Its warm white coloration coordinates with the hand-painted English Gothic ceramic tiles of the Carriage House Collection and complements the antiqued character of our 17th-century-inspired Dutch Delft wall tile collection.
Designed to provide a subtle finishing line rather than a prominent architectural molding, this ceramic pencil edge trim is suited to kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, fireplace surrounds, and decorative tile panels. It can define the perimeter of a tiled installation, separate decorative tile patterns, or create a delicate transition between tiled and adjacent wall surfaces.
Vintage Warm White was selected for its ability to harmonize with the natural patinas of reclaimed European materials. Its softly aged appearance pairs beautifully with antiqued French limestone flooring, Belgian bluestone, reclaimed French terra cotta, and French oak floors, creating continuity between decorative ceramic wall tiles and the architectural materials surrounding them.
