Hand-Painted French Garden Decorative Tile – 19th-Century Rouen-Inspired Design with Antiqued Crackle Glaze

Antiqued French blue and white ceramic wall tiles inspired by 19th-century Rouen pottery evoke the ornamental beauty of historic French gardens, country estates, and elegant European interiors. Monet Garden, from the Cuisine de Monet Collection, interprets the decorative traditions of French faience through a garden-inspired motif influenced by the celebrated blue and white tiled kitchen of Claude Monet's home in Giverny, France.

The Garden design reflects the relationship between nature, decorative geometry, and architectural ornamentation found throughout French interior design. Originally hand-painted by Emmi Micallef, co-founder of Historic Decorative Materials and Pavé Tile, Wood & Stone, Inc., the motif brings the charm of traditional French ceramics into a refined decorative composition.

Each ceramic wall tile is kiln-fired at the Pavé facility in a rich French Blue decorative glaze, available against Historic Cool White or Vintage Warm White. The carefully hand-crazed, antiqued surface creates a delicate crackled patina, recalling the character and subtle imperfections of historic French glazed ceramics.

Ideal for elegant European kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, fireplace surrounds, and decorative architectural installations, Monet Garden introduces the artistry of French Provincial tile into classical residences, historic restorations, and sophisticated interiors built today.
