Italian Renaissance blue and white ceramic wall tiles evoke the architectural elegance of historic Florentine palazzi, where classical proportions, decorative ornamentation, and skilled craftsmanship defined some of Europe's most distinguished interiors. Palazzo is a hand-painted Italian decorative wall tile inspired by the grandeur of 16th-century Renaissance architecture and the ornamental traditions of Italy's noble residences.
Featuring original artwork by Emmi Micallef, co-founder of Historic Decorative Materials and Pavé Tile, Wood & Stone, Inc., the Palazzo motif interprets the formal beauty of Renaissance decorative arts through carefully composed lines and classical ornamentation. Its rich Florentine Midnight Blue glaze contrasts elegantly with Historic White or Vintage Warm White, creating a timeless blue and white ceramic tile suited to refined architectural interiors.
Each handmade ceramic tile is kiln-fired at the Pavé facility, developing a subtly crackled glazed surface that recalls the texture and character of historic European decorative ceramics. The individual Palazzo motif offers versatility for both repeating decorative tile patterns and carefully placed architectural accents.
Ideal for Italian Renaissance kitchen backsplashes, decorative bathroom walls, fireplace surrounds, and classical wall installations, Palazzo introduces the sophistication of Italian palace architecture into historic restorations, traditional residences, and homes built today. Its deep blue ornamentation pairs beautifully with antiqued French limestone, Belgian bluestone, reclaimed French oak, and other natural materials associated with enduring European interiors.
Historic White: A refined warm white that retains the crisp, luminous appearance of a true white without the cool undertones of blue-white ceramic glazes. Its subtle warmth provides a clean, defined contrast with the Florentine Midnight Blue decorative motif, creating a brighter and more traditional blue and white tile palette.
Vintage Warm White: Our warmest white, distinguished by its softened, aged character and natural compatibility with reclaimed European architectural materials. Particularly complementary to antiqued French limestone flooring, Belgian bluestone, antique cement tiles, French oak floors, and reclaimed French terra cotta flooring, Vintage Warm White harmonizes with the patina, texture, and muted colors of historic interiors.
