Provenance: Chambord, France is a small village in the Loire Valley, in the heart of the forest of Bologne.  It became royal property in the late 15th Century and by the 16th Century, François 1 began building one of the most beautiful château in the Loire Valley - Le Château de Chambord.

Cost - $40.00/SF

This rare French reclaimed terra cotta tile octagon with ardoise cabochon was salvaged from un vieux bâtiment in Chambord, France, on the same property where Le Château de Chambord is located. This gorgeous reclaimed terra cotta tile octagon floor with original ardoise (slate) cabochon has soft earthen hues and etched with patina from a century + of wear.  The soft charcoal colors of the slate cabochon are a brilliant contrast to the clay hues of the terra cotta tile - creating a tension of light and dark values, of textures and of colors.  Artistically it's divine, and adding to it it's historical provenance - this is a floor for kings and queens. How glorious this floor would be in a kitchen with a black La Cornue range and our Midnight Black Zellige tileScroll the images to see this design concept.

Recommended Sealer after Installation:  Akemi Stone Impregnation for French Reclaimed Terra Cotta Tile Flooring
