Salvaged from un vieux bâtment in Picardie, France - this lot of French reclaimed terra cotta tile hexagons are for ceramic enthusiasts who know how priceless it is to see authentic flashing on clay tiles.  Flashing is an artistic, fired visual effect on bare clay surfaces in fuel burning kilns (especially wood) and this is in fact the case.  Hand molded and high fired in kilns using wood, this incredible lot is richly saturated from the red Picardian clay, with halos of charcoal colored flashing bordering nearly every tile.  These deep reds are seen throughout the villages of Picardy, with their houses made of red bricks, often accented with a "lace" of white ones.  This is a perfect reclaimed terra cotta tile floor for a Mid-Century Modern home or an eclectic farmhouse with industrial accents.

Recommended Sealer after Installation:  Akemi Stone Impregnation for French Reclaimed Terra Cotta Tile Flooring
