Saint-Macaire is a beautiful town southeast of Bordeaux, along the the Garonne river. The town's history, dating back to the 1st century, is well-known for it's famous wine production. Like many towns in this Bordeaux region, Saint-Macaire has enjoyed wealth and prosperity as is seen in the stone and stucco architecture along the cobblestone streets. The reclaimed terra cotta tile lot that we salvaged from this region seemed to have soaked up the colors of this famous wine production. The variety of hues range from a deep red Bordeaux to a sparkling rosé. There are also colors of rich browns like the soil where the grapes are grown and stone gray. This variation of light and dark hues make for an earthy color palette with pops of sweet pink and red colors. The patina is rich and the edge details are worn with age.
Recommended Sealer after Installation: Akemi Stone Impregnation for French Reclaimed Terra Cotta Tile Flooring
Cleaning and Maintenance: Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina.
