This is the Châteaux region of France - glorious castles filling the eyes with extravagant feasts of limestone turrets, moats, drawbridges and great halls.  There are many outbuildings and structures near these immense properties for the thousands of help that maintained, gardened, cleaned, cooked and repaired these "humble abodes".  However, the authentic humble abodes, where the help did dwell, did not have hand hewn limestone from Provence - but the simple "French hexagon tile" made from the very clay underneath these grounds.  This is the story of this Historic Reds French Reclaimed Hexagon Terra Cotta Tile Lot.  Salvaged from a dilapidated structure within this vicinity - the sablé patina surely received many cobbled footsteps, the richly saturated multi-hued terra cotta tiles are a study in red.  From rose red and red brown to red gray, red aubergine and a few prized hexagons with flashing, this classic red palette is extraordinary.  It speaks of the terra cotta clay deposits underground that were transformed by hand and fire into  historic French reclaimed terra cotta tile hexagons that they are today - before you.
