We salvaged this French reclaimed hexagon terra cotta tile lot from Auxerre, France. Located on the Yonne River, in the Burgundy region of France, this town was historically significant because of its riverfront location and a major trade route between the Mediterranean and the North Sea.  In one of the numerous half-timbered houses that define this historic town, it was an old grenier - or attic - where we procured this historic lot.  Muted tones of chestnut, terra cotta, stone and cream - where the wear from generations patinaed it's surface texture - create a soft and extremely historic aesthetic.  The lovely edge detail - precisely made but now worn with age - adds to the elegance of this terra cotta tile.

Cleaning and Maintenance:  Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina.
